Little Baby Bumble Bee

We attended the Rivercrest Ward Harvest Party. All of the kids were dressed up so cute! We played the adult musical chairs competition which became very competitive! People were jumping over chairs and shoving just to stay in the game. I was eliminated after a long hard battle against a big army guy. I put up a good fight and have the battle wounds on my wrist to prove it. Tyler made it to the final three, but didn't win. The prize was your choice of any dessert from the pot luck table.

Christmas Made in the South

Heather and Max joined us for a trip to Christmas Made in the South. We broused around and got lots of good ideas for new projects. For example, the adorable monogramed A-lined dresses in the back ground (the REAL reason for the photo.) Mom and I went back the next day, she loved the dresses as well, so we went straight to Hancock Fabrics. She bought a pattern and enough fabric to make four dresses for less than one outfit cost at the craft show!

Cutie

She did okay the rest of the day, no real fussiness from getting her shots. But, I can't get over how cute her feet are in these adorable bunny slippers!

6 months = another round of shots

These pictures are pre-shots, obviously. But while waiting for the doctor Annagrace entertained herself with the matress liner. First she made a little hole, then she gently picked and pulled until she got it big enough to fit her whole hand in the hole and then with full strength and arms outstretched she pulled and ripped it to shreds, putting as many pieces as possible into her mouth. She didn't enjoy my finger jabbing around to pull it back out though. The doctor said we can start with solid table foods now, so Annagrace enjoyed her first breadstick at Olive Garden. We went for lunch with G.G. and Sis Rowe after her doctor appointment.

On the way HOME!!

She is such a big girl. She did really well on the airplane, no crying at all. She played and then fell asleep immediately when I snuggled her up tight.

Day 10

Very normal day . . . church and a Bronco's game, except for the fact that they WON!!! We had to tell Todd and Kim goodbye, hopefully we will be seeing the two of them AND Reese next summer if they can come down.

Day 9 - Baby Shower!

We were sitting in the family room when Papa anounced, "it's snowing this morning." I ran to the window to find the largest most beautiful snowflakes falling at a steady rate. So, I quickly put a fleece suit on Annagrace, over her pjs, grabed the camera, and went out into the snow. Annagrace loved it! I should have pulled the hoodie over her head, but the snowflakes looked too cute in her hair, I had to take the picture. I didn't realized the snowflakes were practicly frozen to her head/hair.
We had a lot of fun doing a baby shower for Kim at Grandma Welch's. Annagrace and I had fun painting the letters, making the diaper cake and other deocorations on Thursday. They made a very pretty centerpiece.

Day 8 - SLC

We drove down to Salt Lake to meet with Torben and Angela. They were in town for Angela's sister's wedding. We went to Chili's for lunch then just went back to Grandma Joan's to chat. They had to be back at Angela's Mom's for dinner, so our time was too limited to make it to the movie as originally planned. But, I think it worked out better, Tyler and I have a strict rule of NO babies in a movie theater. We don't want to be one of those hated couples with the screaming child during a movie.

Day 6 - Continued

After the MTC, Nana and Papa drove us down to Santiquin to visit with Chuck's family. We all went to Golden Corral for dinner.

Day 6 - MTC

We droped Tim off at the MTC and as Thomas says the "crying room" got me. But, it really wasn't fair. I had to get up with Annagrace (because she only fusses at the worst times possible) and stand near the door. Well, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was the "Missionary Exit" so when they concluded the meeting and told the Missionaries to tell their families goodbye, they all headed straight towards me. So, there I was, surrounded by sobbing Mothers, Grandmas, girlfriends, sisters, and even Dads . . . I was trapped against the wall and all I could do was sob along with them. By the time I actually got to hug Tim goodbye, I was full on ugly face crying. Todd, Tim, Thomas, Mom and Dad all looked at me like I was crazy, no one thinking I would take Tim's leaving so hard. It wasn't until we actually got outside that I was able to explain myself.
Tyler left us on Monday to go back home and work. I miss him like crazy, every time I go away without him, I swear I will never, ever do it again. He is truly my other half and I'm a little lost without him. His brothers are a nice substitute though, they really take care of me and are so sweet to me and Annagrace. (They love entertaining her) Todd is going to me a wonderful Father in a couple of months and Thomas will be too . . . someday! Tim was Annagrace's substitute Daddy for two days, he looks and acts so much like Tyler that I wonder if she could really tell the difference. But I think she is in Daddy withdrawl, she soaks up any male attention she can get.

Day 5

On Tuesday I packed Annagrace up in the Snugli and we walked down to Downey Elementary to visit Nana and the WOW Preschool. Nana had fun taking Annagrace all over the school and introducing her to everyone. We then walked down to Main Street to shop at the fabric store, that just so happens to only be open Mon, Wed, and Friday. So we bought a drink at the grocery store and walked back home. We did come across a very mean, loud dog that caused us to cross to the other side of the street. We were very grateful for the rope restraining him to the front yard. So it is, in small town life.
When Nana got home from Preschool, she drove us to Pocatello so we could spend the evening with Todd and Kim. We had a lot of fun just shopping, going to dinner, and hanging out at their apartment. Later that evening, Nana, Papa, Tim, and Thomas met us and we all went to Denny's for Ice Cream because Tim had been set apart as a Missionary. (AND it is Annagrace's 6 month Birthday!!)

Day 4

We went to Flags for breakfast Monday morning, mainly to tell Tyler goodbye. He flies home today. It was really hard to tell him goodbye, I didn't want to let go of him and I started crying, but I think it was the thought of Annagrace being away from her Daddy more than me being away from my husband. He was so sweet, he drove down the sreet but had to turn around and come back to give Annagrace another hug. (which only made me cry more)

Day 3 - Tim's Farewell

Church didn't start until 11:30 so Tim gave Annagrace a quick piano lesson.

Annagrace enjoyed meeting all of her Great Grandmas. Great Aunts, and cousins. Tim gave an excellent talk during sacrament meeting, then everyone headed back to the house for lunch.

After the extended family left, we all changed clothes and headed down to the elementary school playground . . . and the fun ensued . . .

Day 2

The beautiful Downey, ID

Saturday Nana babysat and Tyler and I spent the day together shopping in downtown Preston. We took the long scenic route home and took some great landscape shots. The escapees from the fence.

Taking a nap with Papa.

1st Day

Annagrace enjoyed some squash before we headed out for the day.
After shopping in Pocatello we headed to Marsh Valley High School for a football game.

Notice the drastic difference in our outfits from two weeks ago at the Brookstone football game. Tim was announcing the game so he also gave a sweet big welcome to his "little niece all the way from Columbus, GA" only he said that she is six years old, instead of six months.

In UTAH!

Once we arrived in SLC we picked up our rental car and headed down to Chuck's house to drop off Mom. (after we picked up lunch at Carl's Jr. - Tyler's favorite) Oh, added bonus, they upgraded our car to a full size - Pontiac Grand Prix with the sports package. Not exactly the ideal "family" car we were looking for, but it was REALLY nice and "pimped out."The kids were all very excited to meet Annagrace, they all sat in a circle around her while I changed her leaky diaper. Then, they all fought over who was going to hold her next.
Rebecca was great with her, I only wish they lived closer so we could have her as our babysitter.
Then we headed to Idaho and made it in time for dinner even Todd and Kim came down from Pocatello to greet us.

We are OFF!

On our way to Idaho! Annagrace's frist plane ride.

New Table

My very talented Daddy has outdone himself yet again. This is my new table, well new to me anyway. You see, this table started out as a road side find (my neighbor was throwing it out) and the (early American stained) chairs were purchased from a yard sale last year and discarded into our storage shed until we realized they would compliment the table. I asked my Daddy to paint it all for me. He not only painted it with lacquer, he sanded, he buffed, he painted again, and painted again until it was perfect! You would never know the humble origins of my beautiful set.

Puppet

I guess Annagrace doesn't have enough toys because she fell in love with a POTHOLDER today! She loved it so much that Mom decided to add a face to it and call it a puppet. And yes Annagrace is naked, I strip her down to eat because I just don't want to deal with baby food satins.
1 more day until
we are on our way
to IDAHO!

Reunion

Well, I guess my nervousness was in vein. We went to the reunion dinner and football game and saw a grand total of 5 people that graduated with me. And due to half of them not showing up until the football game, we didn't really talk to anyone. So, we ate, watched the kick off and the first touchdown, then left and went shopping at Target. What a night! Annagrace really enjoyed the football game though (she loves being outside in general) and I love the fact that nothing startles her. People were cheering and going crazy during the first touch down and she didn't make a sound, she was just wide-eyed taking it all in. We did get a lot of "look at that pretty baby" comments . . . that never gets old! =)

On a personal Note

Tomorrow night is my High School 10 year reunion and I'm getting a little nervous. I don't know why, I'm at a very happy place in my life. I've lost 100 pounds since the last time these people saw me, I have my, long awaited, beautiful baby girl, and my at home business is doing great and growing. (Oh, and I have a totally sweet, loving, irresistible, hot husband!) The reunion is a two night event, the second of which we are not attending. The first night is a dinner and the homecoming football game. So, if I'm not enjoying the company of the people that I didn't particularly enjoy the company of 10 years ago, at least we can enjoy watching a football game. I'm afraid the people that I actually want to see won't be there and I know Laurie won't be there. She can't get a day off to see her husband, much less a weekend to come home for her high school reunion. Maybe that's my problem, she has always been my security blanket, I've never had to interact with these people without her by my side. I will desperately miss her tomorrow, but I am going to brave it on my own (with Tyler and Annagrace). I will let you know how it goes!

Countdown to Idaho

ONE WEEK!

One week from today we will be freezing our fannies off in Idaho. (Well, freezing compared to our 80 degree Georgia Fall!) I am so excited, I packed my suit case last night. I know, I know . . . I'm crazy, but I'm an organized crazy. I'm already stressing out that I will forget something that we will desperately need. And I know, full well, that we can purchase anything we need out there if I forget it; but I worry anyway.
It was kinda fun. I put on a little fashion show for Tyler and Annagrace (I don't think he was as into it as I was) and Tyler gave his opinion on each and every outfit. (He's so sweet) I then put each outfit on the bed, perfectly folded, and then proceeded to make a list of everything on my bed. (Wait there is logic to my madness) This way, if I wear any of these outfits before we leave, I won't forget to repack them. (I knew you would realize the brilliancy of the plan!) So, tonight is Annagrace's suitcase's turn. Hers is a little trickier though, she not only needs clothes, but pacifiers, blankets, bottles, diapers . . . most of which can't be packed until the last minute, which FREAKS me out!

Knock on Wood

I should have knocked on wood. Last week I was just bragging to myself that my baby is almost 6 months old and has NEVER been sick. No cold, no ear infection, no diarrhea, NOTHING. Then Sunday night, as we were putting her to bed, we noticed that she was really congested. When we tried to put her pacifier in, she would have to spit it out to breath, she couldn't do both at the same time. She slept in our bed all night because I was scared to death that she wouldn't spit out the pacifier and would suffocate. Monday morning she was even worse and so sad looking. We took her temperature: 100.4. I called the doctor but they said there were no appointments available and her temperature should be over 101.9 before they would do anything. So the nurse just gave me some suggestions. We spent the rest of the day giving her Infant Tylenol Cold every four hours and squirting saline in her nose so we could suction out the snot. Oh course she screamed during this process but was immediately okay when the snot sucker was put away. Today she is 100 times better: no fever and little snot. So, I guess she wasn't technically SICK (the nurse said it was just due to the change in weather). So, maybe I can still brag a little!
