Craft Blog

Check out my new blog - ALL about crafting and decorating. There is a link over on the right under "My work from home." I decided the My Welchy blog is for family stuff and the little things Annagrace is doing but I needed my own to talk all about crafts and decorating. My latest project is my Aunt Brenda's house. We are redoing the entire house - one room at a time.

Fantasy in Lights

We went to Fantasy in Lights tonight and had a lot of fun. Annagace fell asleep about 20 minutes into the hour long trolley ride. But, she loved what she saw before she fell asleep. The weather was perfect - not too windy and not too cold. I would post pictures but SOMEONE borrowed my card reader and hasn't returned it yet . . . you know who you are!!! LOL

FIRST TOOTH

Today we discovered Annagrace's two front teeth have finally made their appearance. After 4 months of excessive drooling . . . they are finally here! And BOTH at the same time! They are so cute, if she would actually let us look at them for more than a millisecond we would take a picture of them. We got our first good, long look at them tonight, unfortunately it was because she was screaming.

Best Baby

I may be a little partial, but I do believe I have the BEST baby EVER! We have been helping my Aunt paint her house the past two days. Annagrace goes along, of course, and will just sit on the floor and play. Seriously, all I do is spread out a blanket, sit her down in the middle, give her a couple of toys and the diaper bag, and she will entertain her self for a full two hours or more. First she starts with the diaper bag. She slowly, studying each piece as she goes, empties the daiper bag. Then plays with the pile of diapers and toys all around her. But, today was the ultimate . . . when she got tired, she rolled to her side, pulled her blanket up over her face and WENT TO SLEEP, all by herself! And she slept a solid hour and a half. She is the BEST! She is also very talented! I decided to hold her while I was painting the last 3 sq in of unpainted wall. All of a sudden I heard a kur-plunk . . . I looked down to see this . . .
she spit out her pacifier and rung the paint bucket!

Happy Thanksgiving!

My little cabbage patch kid.
Hope you engorged yourself with Turkey and dressing and all the goodies you could find! Because we sure did!!
We went to our annual location - Aunt Brenda and Uncle James' house. We had a nice lunch with everyone and then played a 3-1/2 hour Phase 10 game (we thought it would never end!). We are going to bed early tonight so we can make it to Kohl's at 4am - the first stop on our shopping tour.

New Tree

I finally convinced Mom that her tiny 6 ft tree was not in proportion to her 10 ft ceilings and big new house . . . she NEEDED a new 9 ft tree. So we went to Sam's and got one today. We barely fit it in my car. Mom was practically sitting on the dashboard so we could fit the box in the back. Then we went to Hobby Lobby and bought all of the decorations. Deciding on a color scheme is really a big deal. Ornaments are expensive so you want to choose something you are going to be happy with for a long time . . . not an easy task. We walked the isles several times before she decided to go with red and gold. (By the way, they are the same colors she choose for her first tree she and my dad ever had. She didn't remember that though. I think it's funny that she is still drawn to the same colors she loved 40 years ago.) After Tyler got off, we picked up pizza and headed out to their house to decorate the tree. We didn't realize that we would spend more time fluffing the tree than decorating it. The tree has over 4000 tips and I touched every single one of them and bent them into the correct position.
Annagrace did her part, by adding slobber to the decorations. I guess you could say she added a little sparkle to the tree.

Banana

Annagrace tried a real banana tonight, not the mushy stuff they call baby food. She liked it and tried to eat it but Missy kept distracting her. She couldn't help but look at that little dog. I think it freaks her out a little that Missy is so little. She loves Lucy but cries when Missy bothers her. I don't know if it's the size or the howl, but Missy is not her friend.

Christmas is coming to town!!

We just couldn't resist any longer - the tree went up today!! Along with all of the other fun Christmas decorations. I just love Christmas, the lights, the music, the warm fuzzy feelings. Why not have it out a little longer? I don't think 25 days is long enough! I know, I know, you are saying "it's not even Thanksgiving yet!" But no one comes to our house for Thanksgiving, so why not?

Little Boogger

I put several toys on the floor and placed Annagrace, stomach down, in the center of them. I went to the bathroom for 2 mintes and came out to this . . .

Why do I spend money on toys when she is just as entertained with the vacuum cord? Maybe for Christmas we will buy her an extention cord!

Yummy

Well, she's getting better and better with solids. She loves her Melba Toast. But, I think more gets on her highchair, face, hair, and body than acutally makes it into her mouth.

Bronco Fans

My adorable Bronco Fans.
My mom made this cute, cute, cute dress for Annagrace. It's her game day dress for all of the Bronco games. Of course, Tyler absolutely loves the dress . . . it's blue and orange!

Grandmother has made three other dresses but they were dropped off yesterday to be monogramed. I can't wait to get them back. Well, I guess I should tell you the origins of these dresses. We went to Christmas made in the south and saw these cute A-line dresses and two piece outfits. But, they were $50 a piece. After studing them for a few minutes my mom said "I could make that!" So we went straight to Hancock Fabrics, found the pattern, picked out lots of cute fabrics, and a week later Annagrace had four dresses! Actually she has 7 dresses because my Mom took the extra step and made them all (except the Broncos dress) reversable!

TOO CUTE!

PICP

I'm really excited about this new group that I just joined. It's Parenting In Columbus Playgroup. I had lunch with Jennifer Ricker on Monday and she told me about the group (she is a member). I'm excited to meet other Moms and other little baby girls for Annagrace to play with. I've been fortunate enough to make a lot of friends lately at church and I love them all to death. Unfortunately, they are all Military Wives due to leave no later than a year from now . . . then what??? So I'm determined to attach myself to a permanent Columbus stay-at-home mom . . . we shall see!!

Busy Busy Week

Yes they are both asleep!
Wow, I hate to say it but I'm a little releived this week is over. I'm exhausted because it was really crazy, but unfortunately, with the holidays just around the corner I don't think it's going to get much better until January. We had a magic show, GG's birthday lunch, a baby shower, farewell lunch for Nancy Miller, Yard Sale, and a Photo Shoot. Next week I'm decorating my Mom's house for Christmas, then moving on to my own. I love the holidays, and honestly, as much as I may complain I do love being busy. I have fun crafts to do, fun parties to go to, and OH so many bows to make!! Project tonight: Thanksgiving Day cards . . . I know, I know why add to my already overflowing pile. But during the photo session today I took a couple of pictures of Annagrace that are so cute that I HAVE to do cards!

Hi Ho Hi Ho . . . It's off to work I go!

Photos at Callaway

Thank goodness for Callaway, it makes the perfect back drop for pictures! We went with Angie and Keith and had a photo session.

Holly's Baby Shower

Showers are always so much fun and this one was no exception. Heather and Max came over early and we cooked all of the food: Chicken Alfredo, Salad, Garlic Toast, and Cheesecake. Heidi brought some really cute (but hard) games that everyone enjoyed.
I think everyone had fun and Holly got a lot of cute gifts for her baby boy.

We celebrated Ellene's 86th Birthday today. We enjoyed lunch at Cheddars with many of her closest friends. And we had very yummy chocolate cake for desert.

It's Magic

We went to the "B the Dreamer" Magic Show to benefit Josh tonight. (Josh is a 15 year old, in Harris County, who has brain cancer.) As a service project, the Pine Mt. Branch youth put together a Magic Show. It started out as a small project for just their branch but it grew and grew into a huge event. The entire County got behind the project and it spread into Columbus as well. The Magician flew in from Utah (but he is a Vegas performer.) The show was great and I even participated in one of the tricks. He used my engagement ring, along with another audience member's wedding band, and hooked them together (a take on the Chinese ring trick). But, it was really my ring and the other ring was interlocked with it . . . AMAZING!

Annagrace was wonderful through the whole show, she was mesmerized by all of the moving lights and the music.

Getting into everything

Usually, Annagrace enjoys just playing with and tasting the shoulder strap for the diaper bag, but today that wasn't enough. She pulled the large flap completely over, tasted it, and then proceeded to empty the bag for me. The one thing she really wanted to pull out, her bottle, was being held in with an elastic band . . . a very cruel, cruel toy.

The Great Pumpkin

Annagrace was an adorable pumpkin (Tyler said she was a jack-o-lantern) for Halloween. Our first stop on our Trick-or-Treat tour was G.G.'s house. She was very excited to see Annagrace and she gave her 3 pieces of candy!
Our next stop was Tammy's house (our previous neighbor) and then we were off to the McGrory's house. It was their first time meeting Annagrace. But, Annagrace got along with them just fine because she was able to steal Morgan's horns and spear.
Annagrace was a little pooped so she took a nap on our way to the Pine Mt. Branch Trunk-or-Treat and Chili cook-off party. She was well rested and happy when we arrived and had a lot of fun looking at all of the funny costumes. Aunt Brenda and Uncle James won the best decorated trunk contest.
